Support Queer Russians Building Hope Under Pressure
Think there’s no room for action in Russia? Well, there is! These organizations protect queer lives across the country — from Vladivostok to Kaliningrad. Donate to keep their lifesaving network alive, running, and accessible to everyone.

Many people say it's impossible to be queer in Russia. The government labels us as extremists, putting our lives in constant jeopardy. Yet, despite the odds, queer Russians are still here, still fighting, and still building communities of support.

Organizations like ComingOut and the Union of Russian LGBT Organizations are at the forefront of this struggle, providing a network of safe spaces and essential services. They support queer people all over Russia—from Vladivostok to Kaliningrad—ensuring that no matter where you are, help is just a call away.

But the situation is getting worse. In the last year, the attacks on LGBTQ+ people have intensified. Our research conducted with over 6,000 queer people across Russia paints a chilling picture of rising violence and discrimination: people surveyed across every corner of the country, the picture is grim, but also deeply urgent.

🔥 Nearly half (48%) of LGBTQ+ respondents experienced violence or pressure due to their identity. That’s up from 30% just two years ago. The numbers are even worse for trans people and youth.

🏳️‍⚧️ 31% of trans people live in poverty. 7% live in extreme poverty, meaning they can’t afford basic needs. Over half avoid seeking medical care because of fear or past discrimination.

📣 88% of LGBTQ+ people say censorship affects their daily lives. 91% practice self-censorship to avoid being outed. Even reposting a queer video can get you reported.

🧑‍⚖️ Trans parents are 5x more likely to be targeted by child welfare authorities than just a year ago.

Despite these overwhelming obstacles, we continue our work. We offer legal consultations, provide psychological support, and create safe spaces for those who need it most. We document every violation, continue to speak out, and keep fighting for our community’s rights—even under pressures that no international organization would endure.

If you’ve ever asked “What can I do?”, here’s your answer.

But we can’t do it alone. Your support is crucial. Every euro, dollar, or pound you donate helps fund life-saving support for LGBTQ+ people in Russia. It keeps our network alive. It keeps our hope burning. It ensures that no one feels forgotten.

Together, we can show them they’re not alone.
